Media Mention: SPH Bags 5 Wins At Most Popular Website Awards

Straits Times - 8th April 2008 - Media group Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has clinched five awards recognising the most popular websites among Internet users in Singapore. SPH’s popular technology portal, Hardware zone scored three awards. Hardware Zone’s CEO, Jackie Lee said he was “delighted to be recognised once again for the strenuous efforts we put in.” Hardware Zone has won 17 Hitwise awards over the last six years. Last year, 6.91 million people visited the site, up 40 percent from the year before.

Media Mention: Hitwise Names Highest Trafficked Sites

MARKETING Interactive - 4th April 2008 - Singapore - Yahoo Singapore and SPH Magazine’s Hardware Zone were big winners at last night’s Hitwise Singapore Online Performance Awards.

Hardwarezone, which has amassed 17 Hitwise awards over seven years, aced three categories: ‘Computers and Internet - Hardware, News and Media’, ‘IT Media and Computers and Internet’ and ‘Social Networking and Forums’. It has also registered increased visits by 39.79% to 6.91 million for 2007 compared to the year before.

IT SHOW 2008 - Dissected

www.hardwarezone.com.sg ran a preview of IT SHOW on 28th February, followed by an in-depth 2-parts extensive coverage of ground zero on 6th March. The ever-popular forums also saw the opening of a dedicated channel just for IT SHOW 2008 from 3rd - 10th March.

Between 3rd to 10th March, we saw a more than 10% increase in visitorship to 356,000. as compared to the previous week. The same period also saw a total of 8 million page views.

Comparing to SITEX 2007 (26th November - 3rd December 2007), the visitorship during IT SHOW was a significant 30% more, while pageviews was at a 11% more.

The results further illustrated the increasing mass of consumers that will visit HWZ during IT fairs to share and discuss so that they can make a more informed purchase decision.

A further emphasis of our reach is that HWZ is ranked #1 website in the Computers and Internet - Social Networking and Forums industry based on market share of Singapore Internet visits during 2007 in the recent Hitwise Online Performance Awards, held at IndoChine on 3rd April 2007.
